Not all roses decay well. Some drop their petals first and you have nothing left. But when a rose just dries and shrivels up, but retains its shape - great for photographing.

This is 4 images. A photo of some wall paper, a photo of an old wall, a photo of a mirror frame, and a photo of the rose. All then colour matched.

I couldn’t decide if the pink wasn’t gothic enough for this look, but in the end, I decided to go with pink after all.
