Darkness is hunting.

Smothered by night.

Kissed by the ghost

of a banished wind,

silence walks.

Inspiration

This poem grew from that familiar feeling of walking through darkness when every sound disappears. There is nothing to see, yet the silence itself becomes oppressive; as though the night is holding its breath while something unseen waits.
